We're a company built around our people – and we’re committed to supporting each and every one of them to be the best they can be.
We love having a diverse team of people who bring new ideas and different strengths and perspectives to Ascential.
In terms of gender diversity, we’re proud to have been in the top three of the Hampton-Alexander rankings for gender diversity on boards for the FTSE 250 since the launch of the rankings in 2016. Fifty-seven per cent of our workforce identify as female, and we’re working to make sure that we have the right representation at a senior leadership within our business. Our Women in Leadership committee exists to ensure that we are removing blockers to career progression for all our people.
We recruit and reward employees based on capability and performance, and we’re currently doing work to ensure that those from other underrepresented groups are able not just to join our company, but to thrive and succeed.
At the 2019 Ascential Conference, we hosted a training session for our workforce on Mitigating Bias. Since then, we have also hosted virtual workshops for all of our teams on Conscious Inclusion and Allyship. We have launched a global Ascential Pride network, connecting our LGBT+ community and allies, and a Black in Business group where our Black colleagues can network, share their experiences and celebrate their diversity. Each year we also celebrate International Women’s Day globally, and have launched a Women in Technology network which aims to support our female colleagues and influence change within an often male-dominated area.
